About John Fumai

I am a full time agent working out of the Colesville Long and Foster office. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and moved to the Washington DC area in 1986 when I attended the University of Maryland. I have been in residential real estate for over 15 years. I started my Real Estate career in 1992 working for a local Property Management company. Since that time, I have worked for several different companies managing over 12,000 units in six different states. As a regional property manager, I was responsible for maintaining a varied portfolio of properties; responding to the needs of tenants; receivables and payables; preparing detailed budgets; developing and implementing marketing plans; negotiating leases and contracts; hiring and supervising personnel and reporting to owners. I also dealt with the acquisition of and disposition of multi-million dollar properties. I have received numerous awards and designations and was promoted to the position of regional manager quicker than anyone in the history of one of my employers. Since joining Long and Foster I have completed a comprehensive program of study called Fast Start from Long and Foster's Training Institute. I have completed the licensing requirements for the State of Maryland as well as the District of Columbia. With less than a year as a full time agent, I completed the requirements as Graduate, Realtor Institute® -- the highly acclaimed GRI benchmark is a designation that less than 10 percent of Realtors in the Washington-Metro area have earned! Most recently, I was chosen DC, Montgomery Co., Western MD Region Chapter Director for the L&F S.T.A.R.S. Program. With over 2000 members, the program is a result of Long & Foster’s commitment to consistently offer support for its agents. Long & Foster enjoys the reputation of having the finest trained Agents. I have been named "Top Producer" and "Top Sales" for my office twice. My production level has earned me a spot in Long & Foster's Gold Team.
